Marlon Williams back in Top 5 following doco release
Marlon Williams returns to #1 on the Aotearoa Albums Chart, ahead of new entries from Greg Johnson (#4 with the vinyl version of his classic Vine Street Stories album) and Harry Charles who lands at #5 with Movement. Tracks from Te Whare Tīwekaweka also claim six spots on the Tukutahi Te Reo Māori Tiketike 10, and the album is back in the top 5 of the Top 40 – indicating the artist’s documentary release may be making its mark.
Lorde holds at #1 on the Aotearoa Singles Chart, dropping to #12 on the Top 40. Fun fact, the artist’s biggest #1 NZ single was ‘Magnets’ with Disclosure – the track spent 26 weeks at #1 back in 2016.
Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran has officially spent more time at the top of the Top 40 Albums Chart than any other artist. Sheeran chalks up his 61st week at #1 on the Chart over the course of his career, which has seen him deliver seven chart-topping albums.
Shapeshifter claim their fifth Aotearoa Hot Chart #1 this week with ‘Block Party’, and US singer/songwriter sombr hits the top of the Hot 40 after six weeks in the Chart.
