Wham! Grab Another Christmas #1 While Olivia Holds Off Mr Christmas
In the week leading up till Christmas Day, no surprise that the Top40 Singles experience an almost total festive takeover!
Just as it did last year, Last Christmas by Wham! takes out the #1 position, followed closely by the other yuletide staple All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey. Even the pre-Christmas carol fest is not sufficient, however, to get Mr Christmas (Canadian crooner Michael Bublé) back to the top of Top40 Albums Chart. Olivia Dean holds on at #1 with The Art Of Loving notching up a ninth week, just holding out Bublé and his 14-year-old Christmas album.
Fallout Boy are back and feeling the Christmas spirit, landing at #1 on the Hot40 Singles Chart with It Feels Like Christmas.
Local lads Te Wehi and Hori Shaw cap off an incredible year by topping the Hot20 Aotearoa Chart with their latest collaboration, Catch A Wave. Meanwhile, the super consistent Tōku Reo Tōku Ohooho holds at #1 for another week on the Top10 Te Reo Singles Chart.
