ALEX WARREN CLAIMS TOP 40 ALBUM CROWN WITH WILDCHILD, MEL PARSONS BACK AT #1 ON AOTEAROA TOP 20

After a very short break from the Top 40, Alex Warren heads the Albums Chart this week with his second studio LP Wildchild. Despite the success of its predecessor You’ll Be Alright, Kid on the Chart, Wildchild is the artist’s first #1 debut album in NZ. He also claims the first four spots on the Hot 40 with tracks from the record, including the #1 ‘EMERALD EYES’ – and leads the Catalogue Singles Chart with ‘Ordinary’. Ella Langley’s ‘Choosin’ Texas’ now boasts the second longest run at #1 in the history of the Aotearoa Charts, passing a 16th week atop the Singles Top 40. Only Olivia Dean's ‘Man I Need’ has spent longer at the top – with a phenomenal stretch of 31 weeks.

Mel Parsons reclaims the #1 spot on the Aotearoa Albums Top 20 with her latest release Castle Hill after a three-week gap. The indie folk artist has been touring nationwide, with a sold out Tāmaki Makaurau show tonight. Castle Hill debuted at #1 on the Top 40 the week of release, only the second album from an Aotearoa artist to top the Chart in 2026. Letoa enters the Aotearoa Albums Chart at #4 this week, as do MOKOMOKAI and Troy Kingi at #9 with their collab EP, while Jonathan Bree and emerson land at #10 and #14 respectively with new releases.

Hori Shaw and Te Wehi continue to be ‘Ready To Ride’ as the single trots into a 43rd week at #1 on the local Singles Chart, while Max Allais climbs to the top of the Aotearoa Hot 20 with ‘Crybaby’, which originally entered the Chart one month ago. Te Matatini and Te Kuru Marutea return to the top of the Tukutahi Tiketike 10 Te Reo Māori, holding the peak position with ‘Kei Wareware i a Tātou’.
