DEAN CONTINUES RECORD-THREATENING STREAK, TROY KINGI CRACKS #1 ON AOTEAROA ALBUMS TOP 20

Olivia Dean catches up to Tones and I, Katy Perry and Whitney Houston this week, matching their shared record for the most weeks at #1 on the Top 40 Singles Chart by a female solo artist (11). Alongside the ongoing success of ‘Man I Need’, The Art Of Loving holds at #1 on the Albums Chart – in the last 15 years, Harry Styles, Adele and Ed Sheeran are the only UK artists to have spent longer at #1.

Troy Kingi hits #1 on the Aotearoa Albums Chart this wiki, claiming his fifth NZ Albums #1 in just over five years with feature-laden hip hop and RnB LP Troy Kingi Presents: Night Lords. The record is the ninth release from the musical sensei’s 10 10 10 genre project and features the crème de la crème of local artists of the genre, including JessB, Diggy Dupé, Tom Scott, Mareko, Rubi Du, MOKOMOKAI and MĀ.

Te Wehi grabs his first #1 on the Hot 40, with his cover / collab of the Six60 track ‘Raining’, which also tops the Aotearoa Hot 20. The artist also stays at #1 on the Aotearoa Singles Chart alongside Hori Shaw, with their collab ‘Ready To Ride’. The only other duo to spend 17+ weeks at #1 on the NZ Singles Chart is Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo, back in 2020 with ‘Savage Love’. That track went on to top the Chart for 22 weeks.

Te Tira Waiata o Te Pukawai and their Aotearoa Songbook hold steady at #1 on the Tukutahi Te Reo Māori Tiketike 10 with 'Tōku Reo Tōku Ohooho', continuing to dominate the Chart in general, alongside TAWAZ and Marlon Williams.
