Dean Holds at #1 While Live Performances Shake up Top 40
Olivia Dean chalks up her 19th week at #1 on the Singles Top 40 with ‘Man I Need’ and 16th in the top spot on the Albums Top 40 with The Art Of Loving.
Demonstrating the power of live performance, the Albums Chart also sees the return of Bad Bunny – who is back in the Chart with DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS thanks to his historic Superbowl performance last weekend. Three tracks from the Grammy-winning album also appear in this week’s Singles Top 40. Similarly, Lorde leaps up the Albums Chart the week of two much-anticipated homecoming shows, while Laneway appearances deliver Top 40 payoffs for Geese, PinkPantheress, Wet Leg and Gigi Perez, who all climb – and headliner Chappell Roan is catapulted to #1 on the Catalogue Albums Chart.
Lorde also maintains her reign over on the Aotearoa Albums Top 20 with Virgin – Gin Wigmore is the only other female NZ artist to have spent at least 11 weeks at #1 on the Chart (with 2012’s Gravel And Wine). Meanwhile, Te Wehi and Hori Shaw replace themselves at the top of the Aotearoa Singles Chart, landing at #1 this week with ‘Catch A Wave’. The duo’s second collaborative single reaches the top after an 8-week Chart run.
US artist producer sombr resurfaces with ‘Homewrecker’, this week’s Hot 40 #1, and Six60 also keep the temp up with ‘We Made It’ leading the Aotearoa Hot 20 as their much-anticipated album Right Here Right Now drops. ‘Tōku Reo Tōku Ohooho’ marks a 65th week on the Te Reo Māori Top 10, and a 27th at #1.
