Olivia Dean and Taylor Swift Stay on Top
It’s another week at the top for Olivia Dean, as ‘Man I Need’ continues its reign at #1 in the Top 40 Singles Chart. It’s a record-breaking week for the neo-soul singer, who now holds the most weeks at #1 by a female solo artist this year.
The Life of a Showgirl continues its chart-topping run on the Kōpae Tiketike 40 Ōkawa, making it 4 weeks at #1. Only 3 of Taylor Swift’s albums have spent longer at #1 – back in 2023 Midnights topped the Official Albums Chart for 8 weeks total!
Currently in the middle of her Ultrasound World Tour, Lorde makes a return to the top spot on the Aotearoa Albums Chart with Virgin, while new Chart entries by Brainwave, Bilders & MOHI also make their mark. The SIX60 Collection moves over to the catalogue charts after a long run in the Top 20.
Meanwhile, Hori Shaw and Te Wehi hold their position at #1 on the Aotearoa Singles Chart with ‘Ready to Ride’ – no other single has topped the Chart for as many weeks this year.
Over on the Hot Charts - Lily Allen scores her first Hot 40 Singles Chart #1 with ‘Pussy Palace’ taken from her new album West End Girl which enters the Official Album Chart at #6 (the highest album chart position of Lily's career to date); and TWOFACED & Nikita W claim their first #1 single on the Aotearoa Hot 20 Singles Chart with their viral remix ‘I Need You’.
This week the classic waiata ‘Tōku Reo Tōku Ohoohoo’ by Te Tira Waiata o Te Pukawai not only tops the Tukutahi Te Reo Māori Tiketike 10 for an 11th consecutive week but also receives its first gold certification.
