OLIVIA DEAN BACK ON TOP WITH #1 SINGLE & ALBUM
Olivia Dean returns to the top of the Albums Chart this week, having previously reclaimed the Top 40 Singles #1 from a certain Ms Swift. Dean originally held the chart double with ‘Man I Need’ and The Art Of Loving the first week of October.
The Top 20 Aotearoa Albums Chart is headed by the ever-intriguing, frequently shirtless, Wax Mustang who has returned to the limelight with a limited edition vinyl Greatest Hits! album. Wax, a.k.a Hamish Calder, began turning heads in 2020 when he went viral on streaming platforms and student radio. He released an EP of new tracks in December 2024 and now pulls together a ‘best of’ his singles to date.
The Top 20 Aotearoa Singles Chart is still a bastion for chart-toppers Hori Shaw and Te Wehi, while the Top 10 Te Reo Singles Chart continues to be headed by ‘Te Tira Waiata o Te Pukawai’. Moving up to #5 on that Chart is the Silver Scroll-winning ‘Aua Ata Rā’, which won Marlon Williams and KOMMI the prestigious tohu last week in Ōtautahi.
English DJ / producer Fred again.. teams up with Irish DJ KETTAMA and Aussie trio Shady Nasty to take the top perch on the Hot 40 Chart with ‘HARDSTYLE 2’, while two-time Smokefree Rockquest winner Ella Pollett secures her first-ever Aotearoa Hot 20 #1 with her new indie pop track, ‘Losing My Mind’.
