OLIVIA DEAN FIRST FEMALE SOLO ARTIST TO SPEND 9 WEEKS AT #1 SINCE DOJA
The last female solo artist to spend nine weeks at #1 on the Singles Chart was Doja Cat back in October 2023 (with 'Paint The Town Red'). This week Olivia Dean matches her, as ‘Man I Need’ continues to hold in the top spot. The Art Of Loving does the same on the Albums Top 40.
Hori Shaw and Te Wehi have an Olivia-like story, as ‘Ready To Ride’ extends its run at #1 on the Aotearoa Top 20 – going Gold in the process. The last duo to spend longer at #1 was Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo back in 2020 with ‘Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)’. Triggar Happy also keeps his position at #1 on the Top 20 Aotearoa Albums Chart with Love Loyalty Respect.
Canadian popstar Tate McRae released a deluxe edition of her #1 album So Close To What last week, landing three new tracks in the Top 40 Singles Chart. One of them – ‘Nobody's Girl’ – opens at #21, while also topping the Hot 40. Auckland duo Foley (a.k.a Ash Wallace and Gabriel Everett) are top-placed on the Aotearoa Hot 20, with their latest banger ‘Honey’ landing at #1.
Finally, Te Tira Waiata o Te Pukawai continue to hold at #1 on the Tukutahi Te Reo Māori Tiketike 10 with ‘Tōku Reo Tōku Ohooho’.
