Olivia Dean Returns To #1 on Singles Chart, Showgirl extends Albums Run
Olivia Dean is back at #1 on the Singles Chart with 'Man I Need' after giving way to Taylor Swift’s 'The Fate Of Ophelia' for the last two weeks.
Over on the Albums Top 40, Swift’s The Life Of A Showgirl holds at #1 for a third consecutive week. Just three of the artist’s earlier LPs have enjoyed longer consecutive opening runs at #1: 1989 (6 weeks), Midnights (6 weeks) and The Tortured Poets Department (4 weeks). Special mention also goes to NZ veterans The Bats and emerging stars Coast Arcade, who both make the Top 40 with new releases this week, at #17 and #21 respectively.
The Six60 Collection is back at #1 on the Aotearoa Albums Chart, ahead of The Bats and Coast Arcade, while 'Ready To Ride' by Hori Shaw and Te Wehi remains the #1 Aotearoa Single – and has now spent more time at the top of that Chart than any other track in 2025. It is also the week's most-played NZ song on radio, according to RadioScope
Shane Walker nabs his fifth Aotearoa Hot 20 #1, three of which have taken a similar theme – 'Waimā Girl', 'Coasty Girl', and now 'Whakapara Girl'. Just like Waimā, Whakapara is a small community in Northland.
Kevin Parker, better known by his musical nom de plume Tame Impala, tops the Hot 40 with 'My Old Ways'. It's the Australian's 22nd time on the Hot Charts, including one entry as the remixer of a Crowded House tune in 2021, but his first track to actually top the Chart.
Finally, there’s no change at the top of the Tukutahi Te Reo Māori Tiketike, as 'Tōku Reo Tōku Ohooho' notches up an 11th week at #1.
