SIX60 LAND FIFTH TOP 40 #1 WITH RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW, OLIVIA DEAN CONTINUES TO DOMINATE SINGLES CHART
Six60 have done it again! Recorded Music NZ’s inaugural Aotearoa Charts Icons go straight to #1 on the Top 40 with Right Here Right Now, their fifth album to top the Chart. The local legends break Olivia Dean’s 15-week streak at #1, ending the UK artist’s astounding consecutive run. Six60 are now tied with Hayley Westenra as the only Aotearoa acts to have led the Top 40 with five records, just behind reigning champs Shihad, who did so with six.
A first week at #1 with Right Here… extends Six60's career tally to 42 weeks topping the Albums Chart. Of those, a remarkable 35 weeks were with just one album, Six60 (3) – the longest #1 run by any local artist and second only to Ed Sheeran's Divide overall. Their latest release also leads the Aotearoa Top 20 – the ninth time they’ve topped that Chart, more than any other NZ act. This week’s Top 20 also sees new entries from Earth Tongue (Dungeon Vision, #2), Bic Runga (Red Sunset – #6) and L.A. Mitchell (Meaningful Work – #8) amongst others.
Over on the Singles Top 40 Olivia Dean continues to reign supreme, holding the top two spots on that Chart and an incredible five positions in the Top 10 overall, including her collab with Sam Fender, ‘Rein Me In’ (#4). Six60 dominate the Aotearoa Singles Chart, reclaiming the #1 spot with ‘We Made It’ after the track first topped the Chart the week of release – as well as securing 11 other Top 20 positions. The group also replace themselves at the top of the Aotearoa Hot Chart, with ‘Endlessly’ – which bumps ‘We Made It’ back to #2. Luke Combs claims the #1 spot on the Hot 40 with ‘Be By You’, his first solo Hot Chart #1.
'Tōku Reo Tōku Ohooho' continues to lead the Te Reo Top 10 – its 28th week at #1 – while recently released tracks from Kruzi feat. Hori Shaw and Hohua Sta ('Oro Taketake') and House of Shem ('Ka Tangi Mōu') start to edge their way up the tiketike (chart).
