Tate Scores A Second Week, Olivia Stretches Her Album Run And TEEKS Tops Aoteaoroa Albums
Tate McRae retains the top spot on the Top40 Singles Chart with Housewife. As the 23-year-old Canadian's first new track in over a year, it appears the wait was worth it as the song has so far hit #1 in 12 countries.
There is no shifting Olivia Dean on the Top40 Albums Chart though, as she notches up a 32nd non-consecutive week at #1 with The Art Of Loving, despite the best efforts of the Queens Of The Stone Age who debut at #2 with Perfecth.
Also pushing the front-runners hard this week is local favourite TEEKS. Northland-born Te Karehana Toi lands his second full-length album Lovers Comet at #4 this week, topping the Aotearoa Top20 Albums Chart in the process. He's busy touring Australia currently but has locked in New Zealand shows for March 2027. Someone you can catch on tour locally right now though is veteran Greg Johnson, who also lands his latest album at Some Night Somewhere inside the Top10 this week, equalling his career-best chart showing of #8, the same position 1995's Vine Street Stories peaked.
Hori Shaw and Te Wehi are back at the Aotearoa Top20 Singles Chart apex with Ready To Ride. The pointy end of this chart remains home turf for these two, alongside fellow reggae kings Son & Water, however it's a new take in a signature series by Wayno - Siva Samoa 2K26 - which opens strongly at #5. The Samoan language hit is being boosted in no small way by hype surrounding this weekend's Rugby League World Cup semi-final where Samoa are out to upset favourites Australia. The song tops the Aotearoa Hot20 too.
On the Hot40 Chart, Gracie Madigan Abrams lands a fourth Hot #1 with Here You Come, There You Go, her second of 2026 after July's Good Reason.
TAWAZ and co secure another week at the top of the Tukutahi Tiketike 10 Te Reo Māori Chart with Mānawa Maiea Matariki.
