WHAM! GRAB ANOTHER CHRISTMAS #1, OLIVIA HOLDS OFF MR CHRISTMAS
In the week leading up to Christmas Day, it's no surprise that the Top 40 Singles Chart experiences an almost total festive takeover! Just as it did in 2024, 'Last Christmas' by Wham! takes out the #1 position, followed closely by the other Top 40 Yuletide staple 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' by Mariah Carey.
But even the pre-Christmas carol fest isn't enough to get Mr Christmas – Canadian crooner Michael Bublé – back to the top of the Top 40 Albums Chart. Olivia Dean's The Art Of Loving fends off Bublé and his 14-year-old Christmas album to notch up a 9th week at #1.
Fallout Boy are back and feeling the holiday spirit, landing at #1 on the Hot 40 Singles Chart with 'It Feels Like Christmas', while local lads Te Wehi and Hori Shaw cap off an incredible year by topping the Hot 20 Aotearoa Chart with their latest collaboration, 'Catch A Wave'.
Meanwhile, the super consistent 'Tōku Reo Tōku Ohooho' holds at #1 for another week on the Top 10 Te Reo Singles Chart.
