Taylor Swift Sweeps the Charts with a Record-setting Release Week
It was less a case of whether Taylor Swift would be adding to her tally of #1 Albums and Singles Chart appearances this week, and more about which records she might trouble in the process.

Taylor Swift Not Slowing Down As Showgirl Goes Platinum
Taylor Swift maintains her dual grip on both the Albums and Singles Top40 Chart as The Life Of A Showgirl spends a second week at #1 and The Fate Of Ophelia holds out Olivia Dean's resurgence.
It's just over 13 years since Taylor landed her 1st #1 single in Aotearoa with We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.
As we noted last week, The Life Of A Showgirl went gold in its first week on the charts, something rare in the modern era. This week it goes one better, hitting platinum status in its second week. The last time any album came close to this was Taylor's last record, the Vinyl Chart-topping Tortured Poets Department. However, that took a full two weeks to get to platinum.
On the local front, Tom Scott crashes straight into the Top20 Aotearoa Albums Chart at #1 with his debut solo album ANITYA. Tom has been to the top of the charts before with two #1 albums with Home Brew and a third with Avantdale Bowling Club. ANITYA debuts at #4 on the Top40 Albums Chart.
Hori Shaw and Te Wehi maintain the top spot on the Top20 Aotearoa Singles for a ninth non-consecutive week with Ready To Ride while Te Tira Waiata o Te Pukawai continue their run at the top of the Te Reo Māori Top10 Singles Chart with Tōku Reo Tōku Ohooho.
Kaylee Bell nabs another Hot20 Aotearoa Chart title, her fourth in total, with Song For Shania. The song is, of course, a nod to country superstar Shania Twain, a similar pattern to her very first Hot Chart-topper, Keith, all about another country icon, Whangarei-born Keith Urban.
The Hot40 Chart is topped this week by a collaboration between two singers from two different supergroups. Eyes Closed is a duet by JISOO of K-Pop girl group BLACKPINK and ZAYN, one-time member of UK boy band One Direction.
